UAE Free Zone Visa Rules

Department of General Directorate of Residency and Foreign Affairs (GDRFA) is responsible to process your visa and issue it to you. Your file is going to be processed by the same department.

Your Government related matters will be handled by the specific Emirate where your residence visa is issued, because there are almost 45 Free Zones and 7 Emirates working in the UAE.

UAE Freezone Residence visa is issued for 2 years and can be renewed easily. Resident visa means you are allowed to stay permanently in the United Arab Emirates.

You can have a residence visa for 2 years if you purchase a residential property with value over one million Dirhams

Two types of people can apply for Free zone Residence Visa. First is the person who is not inside the UAE. It might be a client who wants a residence visa. EVEP (Employment Visa Entry Permit) will be provided to the immigration at airport. Client will stay in UAE for further visa process like; medicals, UAE ID application, insurance and visa stamping etc. it takes almost 15 days.

Free Zone Visa Processing Time

The Freezone evisa takes 48 hours to 72 hours subject to Immigration approval.The Medical and Emirates I’d process will be done once the evisa is issued. The entire visa process may take 10 to 15 working days, subject to approval from the government authority.

Register Online For Free Zone Residence Visa 

Get registered for E-Channel services. This would be the first step for your Free zone visa process. This step is designed under the supervision of Government of UAE. Online application process has made everything faster, accessible and easier.

You just need to ask your freezone agent to make your company registered through online procedure and pay the fees. Registration fees will be AED 2500 along with a refundable security of AED 5000. Now this will be your agent’s responsibility to do the rest of the job. You will be notified right after your registration is done.

Entry Permit

After getting registered for E-Channel services, this is the time to apply for entry permit or employment visa. It is a temporary visa that is valid for 60 days. After getting this visa, you will need to change your status. This step is to activate your entry permit.

Medical Test

You need to get done with your medical fitness test before obtaining freezone visa. A blood test for any infectious disease and a chest X-Ray will be done for medical fitness test and the result are usually out after three days.

Emirates ID Card

After getting done with your medical test, you need to proceed for emirates ID card. It will help you to open an account in bank and also for other official uses.

Residence Visa Stamping

Now this is the time when you get an actual visa sticker in your passport. Stamping process takes 15 days usually. You can move out of the UAE during this process. After successful visa acquiring, you can apply for your family, dependent or even for your employees.
